GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Helsinki Tourism Foundations grants and scholarships
The Helsinki Tourism Foundation is a recognized and independent catalyst in the development of the tourism industry in Helsinki metropolitan area.
The foundation gives grants and scholarships to research, thesis work and projects that are in line with the Foundation’s mission and strategy. The applications can be sent all year around. The foundation gives out annually between 15000 to 25000 euro to students and post-graduates. Grant and scholarship applications are sent by e-mail to the Ombudsman: matkailusaati(at)matkailusaatio.fi.
The final decision concerning the grant or scholarship is made by the Board of the Fund. The Board has 4-6 meetings annually. The application must arrive two weeks before the following board meeting. The timetable is given out by the Ombudsman by request.
Description of the Different Grants and Scholarships
Scholarships are given to projects that enhance the tourism industry of the metropolitan Helsinki.
Study scholarships are given to cover personal living expenses during a set time span in order to complete e.g. a doctoral thesis.
Grants are given to award academic excellence.

- A study group
- A community or a society
Instructions for the Applicant:
All applicants are required to present:
- The Project, the purpose for which the grant or scholarship is applied for and the sum
- The Budget
- The Summary of the Project plan
- The Project Plan
The applicants of universities or universities of applied sciences are also required to present:
- Curriculum vitae or a list of five projects or publications that support the application
- A transcript of Studies
- Post-graduate transcript of Studies
